NTS009: Integrated Water Resources Management

About the Course

Water is a natural resource that is multifunctional and multidimensional, threatened, source of competition and conflicts, looming and calling for integrated management. Since the  Dublin conference, Integrated Water Resources Management has been seen as the answer to addressing the threat to the world’s resources using an integrated approach that is supported by the principles of integrated management of water, taking a participatory approach to the development of water resources, involving women as a key player and the recognition of the economic value of water while taking into consideration affordability and equity.
In response to this growing need in the water sector, NETWAS has developed a course on IWRM that will aim to equip professionals all over the world with skills in improving how  world’s thwater resources managed.

Course Objectives

  • To improve the knowledge of the professionals in IWRM and the current practices of water resources management in the World
  • To facilitate the trainees to develop own action plans that they can use as change projects in home organizations
  • To share experiences from around the world on IWRM through case study analysis and participants learning & sharing
