Netwas Uganda

The Network for Water and Sanitation (Netwas Uganda) is a local non- profit making organization that was registered in Uganda in 1996 to provide services in the water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector. Netwas Uganda is affiliated to Netwas International, which is part of the international training network (ITN) for water and waste management, which supports the activities of the sector in developing countries. ITN Africa Network plays an active catalytic role in the water and sanitation sector development activities in Africa.

Netwas Uganda contributes its part to enhancing water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector capacity (numbers, knowledge and skills) and also carries out social mobilization, research and dissemination of information in the field of water supply, sanitation and hygiene from national level to grassroots level in both urban and rural areas.

Netwas Uganda operates covers all the geographical regions of Uganda. Netwas Uganda has a standing working relationship with Netwas International that allows for partnership in technical support in the whole region of East and Southern Africa.    

Vision Statement

To be a Resource Centre of excellence for capacity building in water supply, sanitation, hygiene, water resources for environmentally sound and sustainable development and management of communities.

Mission Statement

To contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the people in Uganda and elsewhere particularly the poorest of the poor, by way of Human Resource Development, Technical Support and Organizational Development to NGOs and CBOs in WASH, Networking, Research and Dissemination of Information.

Management of Netwas Uganda
 
The Netwas Council is responsible for the overall management of Netwas Uganda. The Executive Director manages the day to day activities on behalf of the Council.

Prevention of WASH related risks through appropriate Nutrition (23rd January - 3rd February 2012)
This course is designed to equip the participants with knowledge on how to manage WASH related diseases nutritionally.  This is because nutrition is a key aspect in our day to day life and sanitation related diseases affect the nutrition status of both children and adults which may consequently lead to loss of lives.
